1. Acceptance of terms
By using Main Street Pulse, including taking the survey, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. What Main Street Pulse is
Main Street Pulse is a diagnostic survey run by The Small Business Corner. We ask business owners a set of stage-specific questions about their business, and we compile the responses into aggregate trend reports and dashboards, which we may sell or license to corporate and government subscribers. Our Privacy Policy explains in full what we collect and how it's used.
3. Who can use it
Main Street Pulse is intended for business owners and operators who are 18 years of age or older. By taking the survey, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you're authorized to answer on behalf of the business you describe.
4. Your responsibilities
- Answer survey questions honestly and to the best of your knowledge.
- Don't submit responses on behalf of a business you don't own or operate.
- Don't submit the survey repeatedly to distort aggregate results.
- Don't attempt to access, scrape, or reconstruct other respondents' individual answers.
5. How your data is used
By completing the survey, you consent to your responses being combined anonymously with other respondents' answers and used to produce aggregate trend reports, which we may sell or license to corporate and government partners. Your individual answers and business identity are never sold or shared on their own. Our Privacy Policy has the full detail.
6. Ownership of the reports we build
The aggregate reports, dashboards, trend analyses, and "Biz Update" content that The Small Business Corner produces from survey responses are our property. Taking the survey doesn't give you an ownership stake in those reports, though Biz Update highlights are shared publicly in the Community Corner as a thank-you to respondents.
7. Data subscribers and licensing
These Terms of Service cover people taking the survey. A business or organization purchasing a Main Street Pulse data subscription (Standard, Premium, or Enterprise) separately agrees to a data licensing agreement that governs permitted use, redistribution restrictions, and confidentiality.
8. No warranty
Main Street Pulse and the reports derived from it are provided "as is." We don't guarantee that the survey, the site, or any report will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. Aggregate trend data reflects self-reported responses from participating business owners and should be read as directional insight, not a statistically representative sample unless we say otherwise.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Small Business Corner isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Main Street Pulse or your reliance on any report or data derived from it.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which The Small Business Corner is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Main Street Pulse evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
